The neonatal unit at the Milton Keynes hospital aims to raise £250,000 to expand the their unit.

To raise funds the Little Lives Findraising Appeal have organised an event at the Red Hot World Buffet (located at the Theatre District), centred around a Wimbledon Theme.

The night will involve mouthwatering dishes, and a raffle which your’s truly is sponsering the cause and will be giving away a prize of a portrait session – so get your tickets now, they are going fast!

It’s all for a very good cause so please if you can’t make it on the night to make a donation to help raise more funds for the unit: http://www.mkgeneral.nhs.uk/about/donate_to_the_little_lives_appeal.asp

Little Lives Appeal is such a great cause and the journey for the fundraisers and of course the team has been inspiring and the hardwork to raise funds is nothing short of extrodinary. The Neonatal Unit is in desperate need to expand, and with your help in raising more funds through events or just digging deep will add to the pot and hopefully reach the £250,000 target in order to get the Neonatal Unit the support and equipment they need.

Happy New Year!

Ok, I am a little late, I’m sorry! But Happy New Year nonetheless. I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year.

Apologies also for being MIA on the blog – have been sooo busy, no excuse I know but I won’t make a regular habit of it I promise.

On a personal note – the feeling of normality and routine is slowly getting there, now that the kid is back to school, all the snow has finally melted away, resulting in warmer climes (although still cold and wet!) and my boy is back to his happy, cheery self, as you can see…

Half Term | Keeping things moving

…as god forbid the kid is ever going to let you have 5 minutes rest! Monday was catch-up with his friend at 360 Play, lots (and I mean LOTS) of kids besieged the place that day, Tuesday consisted of his first trip to the dentist, Wednesday he had to have an injection, which he was obviously apprehensive about but he was a real champ and didn’t make a fuss or cry or winge (bless him), yesterday consisted of getting his haircut (and now looks more beautiful than ever!) and well today, we are chilling out watching The Nutty Professor! Tomorrow he’ll go for his swimming lesson and Sunday he’ll be spending quality time with Grandma – which will let mummy and daddy have some rest!

Promotional Gift | No time like the present!

And yes, that pun was intended! As you can guess it’s the onset of Christmas and the adverts on television so far already (yes, I know its early) but it’s inevitable that we are all thinking (not completely ‘doing’) what we should be getting for friends/family. So in the ’spirit’ of Christmas let me add another gift to that list! If you would like to have a member of your family for a portrait session then Gift Certificates can be purchased, please email me at studio@shereebphotography.com for further details.

I am also doing a promotion on newborn photography, at half the price of the session (RRP. £200.00) this would be a really gorgeous gift for a mother-to-be for them to have their newborn baby photographed, (ideal age for curly, sleepy poses, baby will need to be 10 days or less) or treat yourself if you’re just about to have your new arrival soon.

Go on, treat yourself or a loved one! My kid thinks its great – I mean look at his face!

Blue-eyed Boy | Brothers in Arms

I had the pleasure of photographing two gorgeous kids, big brother Master J and his newborn brother Master B.

Big brother J doted on his brother, giving him lots of cuddles and kisses, that innate nature of protectiveness in siblings is undoubtably so strong. Baby B was exceptionally laid back and didn’t make a peep, so chilled and happy to be cuddled up close with his brother - and I hope Little Brother B grows up to be just like his older brother, who was full of fun and smiles.

H & G thankyou so much for bringing along your wonderful family, big hugs to you all.

Cool kid on the block

Mr B definitely is the coolest kid, he had a wicked attitude to having his photo taken, awesome clothes and a cheeky smile to boot.

Have a look for yourself…

Details

I’m a stickler for details, it’s usually the one thing I notice on people; how they have their hair, how they tie their hair up, what with, the jewellery that someone wears; rings, bracelets, watches, earrings, brooches, their shoes, and even tattoos on show. It’s something that I witness as someone’s makeup, which shows their personality, little titbits of information that is on show for all to see.

So, when I photograph someone’s wedding, the bride has taken details very much into consideration, a very important aspect to her day. That includes details such as the intricate details of her dress, her shoes, her jewelry, her hair, veil and bouquet, and that is what I notice first…

The new term

The kid goes back to school next week, the summer holiday’s are nearly over. How fast did those few weeks go? He has thoroughly enjoyed his time off with his grandmother who has done a great job of looking after him over the holiday’s, he has been kept occupied with places to go, people to see and bought lots of toys, games, colouring books…basically being spoilt by grandma! But who isn’t, my grandmother spoiled me rotten, she found fun things for me to do and took me to places to see, it was very educational in a really fun way. I remember awesome day trips out to the seaside, eating fish and chips by the pier, soaking up the sun and hearing seagulls flying by (trying to nab my icecream), trips to Hampton Court near to where she lived in London, going to visit relatives, shopping for clothes in Brent Cross. Having tea and cake with her oldest and dearest friends on a Tuesday and/or Thursday! They told tales of how life used to be, good and bad when they were young. It was just fascinating stuff. I miss those days, it’s a cliche but it was so much simpler back then, and being kids you literally did have no cares in this world…thanks grandma for the memories!

The kid will no doubt start his first full day with full of tales to tell to all his friends, and start a new term in his new class hopefully learning more each day. Until the next half-term…
